Are my children to young to skate?

We are sometimes asked ‘are my children to young to skate?’

We have skaters as young as two years of age skating regularly at our Rollers Roller Discos. Their skating ability varies greatly depending on how long they have been skating with us and how many roller discos they come to each week. Some of our three years old’s are becoming very competent at forwards and backwards skating.

We have a small number of stomper quads available to hire, which are great beginner quats for young children. Visit our skate hire page to find out more. This is a good option to consider if you don’t want the expense of buying skates for your child to not enjoy it.

My child has never skated before – are my children to young to skate?

You are welcome to walk around the floor with your children when they are first learning to skate. But, ask you to be mindful of other skaters.

All our skaters travel in an anti-clockwise direction around the floor (unless otherwise directed). So we ask you to do them same. Please do not travel up and down the same wall. You are longer travelling in the same anti-clockwise direction as our other skaters.

We have safe areas outside of the cones where you can walk your children up and down during game play. But during general skating please travel anticlockwise around the cones.
